Eleven months have passed since Weed, the son of Gin, beheaded the tyrant, Hougen, returning peace to the mountains. After Gin stepped down, Akame followed suit, happily giving their places as Leader to Weed, Kyoushiro, and Jerome. The soldiers are celebrating the serenity that has almost lasted them a full year, but oblivious to the danger, a new threat rises from the shadows. The sons of Hougen, Masaru and Akuchi, are rousing suspicion from dogs around the Alps. They're taking over small packs one by one, forcing dogs to join them or be slaughtered.
Meanwhile, a pack of young hopefuls lead by a German Shepherd mix by the name of Lock, journey towards Ohu to warn the soldiers of the threat, recruiting their own comrades along the way. On their journey to Paradise they will encounter a few unfortunate run-ins with the two malicious Great Danes and lose a few of their friends along the way. Recruiting dogs for Lock's Pack though proves difficult, as the leader is a bitch and many dogs simply laugh at the idea. This journey will prove harder than they imagined...
